Especially since the 1960s U.S. retailers have been offering significant discounts and promotions on the day following Thanksgiving. This has led to a large number of consumers visiting stores and making Christmas  as gift purchases.

2. meaning of "Black"

The term "Black" symbolizes the day when retailers financial records transition from losses(in the red) to profits(in the black). This transition is a result of the surge in sales due to Christmas shopping, signifying a positive turn in their finances.

Black Friday originated in the United States but is now observed in other countries as well, becoming a significant event that provides consumers with discount benefits and the opportunity to purchase Christmas gifts.
