A : Right! When India became a British colony in 17th century, curry made its way to Britain. They adapted it, incorporatinf flour, to give it a thicker consistency. That's the basic for the curry we know today.
B : Interesting how the culinary journey continued. Curry then made its way to the United States through Britain and eventually reached Korea through Japan. In Japan, it even became a staple in army rations before gaining popularity among civilians.
A :  Today, curry is a global favorite. In Korea, curry rice stands out as the most iconic curry dish.
B : It's amazing how diverse curry can be. In INdia, there are regin-specific curries. And in Britain, too, there's a wide variety with unique flavors depending on the spices used.
A : Korea has its own take on curry, offering dishes like curry rice, curry udon, and curry bread. Korean curry tends to be milder compared to Indian or British curry, with less heat and bitterness.

카레의 기원

 

A : 카레의 기원에 대해 궁금한 적 있어.? 정말 회계적으로 사랑받는 음식이야.
B : 그렇지. 카레의 기원은 인도로 거슬러 올라가. 거기서 오랜 세월 동안 마살라라고 불리는 다양한 향신료를 사용해 음식을 조리해 왔대.. 그로부터 카레라는 개념이 어떻게 발전을 하는지 정말 흥미롭지 않아?
A : 정말 흥미롭지 않아., 17세기에 인도가 영국의 식민지가 된 후에 카레는 영국에 소개되었어. 그들은 이를 영국 전통 스튜 요리에 적용하면서 버터와 밀가루의 혼합물인 루에 더해 농밀한 텍스처를 더했어. 이것이  우리가 오늘날 알고 사랑하는 카를의 기원이야.
