구름도 이런 마음였을까?

The origin of "여우비(Sun Shower)"

The term 여우비 in Korean refers to  rain that falls for a short time on a clear day and then stops. There is an amusing traditional folk tale passed down in the community.

 

A cunning and clever fox believed that if she married the forest's king, the tiger, she could comfortably live in the forest using the tiger's background. Using various fox tricks, she seduced the   tiger and, on a sunny day, they had a wedding.

 

However, there was a cloud that had secretly admired the fox all along. Heartbroken upon seeing the fox marry the tiger, the cloud shed tears, which turned into rain. Later, the cloud wished for the fox's happiness, and the rain stopped, giving way to clear weather again.

 

This is how the saying goes that when rain falls and immediately turns into sunny weather, it's called 여우비 in Korean.

 

이런 이야깁니다 ~

여우비는 맑은 날에 짧은 시간 내리다가 멈추는 비를 말한다. 민간에서 전해오는 재미있는 전통설화가 있다.

 

꾀가 많고 잔머리가 좋은 여우는 숲속의 왕 호랑이와 결혼하면 호랑이의  배경을 이용해서 편하게 숲속생활을 할 수 있을 거라고 생각했다. 그래서 온갖 여우짓으로 호랑이를 유혹하여 햇살 좋은 날 결혼식을 하게 된다.

 

그런데 그동안 여우를 짝사랑하던 구름이 있었다. 여우를 사모하는 마음이 있었지만 호랑이에게 시집가는 여우를 보고 마음이 아파 눈물을 흘리게 되고 이것이 비가 되었고, 구름이 나중에 여우의 행복을 빌자 비가 그치고 다시 화창한 날씨가 되었다고 한다.

 

이렇게 비가 오고 바로 화창한 날씨가 된 것을 여우비로 부르게 되었다는 말이 있다.
