개천절이란?

개천절?

National Foundation Day, also known as 개천절 in Korean, is a significant national holiday in South Korea. It commemorates the legendary founding of the Korean nation by the divine figure named Dangun who, according to mythology, established the Korean state. 개천절 serves as a day to celebrate the origins and cultural heritage of Korea, reminding identity and history.
건국기념일인 개천절은 대한민국의 중요한 국경일로, 신화에 따르면 단군이라는 신성한 인물이  대한민국의 기원이 되는 최초의 나라를  건국했다는 전설적인 건국을 기념하는 날로 국가 정체성과 역사를 상기하고 한국의 기원과 문화 유산을 기리는 날 이다.
 

단군신화는?

Long ago, in ancient times, a celestial being named Hwanung developed an interst in the human world. He descended from the heavens with a firm resolve to assist humanity and chose to reside among them, leading and guiding them from a celestial palace.
옛날 옛적에, 인간세계에 대한 관심이 커진 천상의 존재 환웅이 인간들을 인도하고 지도하며 그들과 함께 살며 돕겠다는 굳은 결심으로 천상의 궁전에서 내려왔다.
 
One fateful day, Hwanung descended in a shower of azure light and sought refuge beneath a sacred pine tree. In a cave beneath this venerable pine tree, he encountered a she-bear that had consumed garlic and mugwort, which led to her transformation into a human. This she-bear-turned-woman was named Yeoro wed, . Hwanung and Yeoro giving birth to  a son named Dangun.
어느 날, 환웅은 청명한 빛깔의 소낙비로 내려와 신성한 소나무 아래에 몸을 숨겼는데, 그 아래 동굴에서 그는 쑥과 마늘을 먹고 인간이 된 여로라는 웅녀를 만나 결혼해 단군이라는 아들을 낳았다.
 
Dangun proceeded to establish the first Korean state known as Gojoseon, marking the inception of Korean history and culture. The Dangun Myth symbolizes the national origin of Korea, with Dangun serving as a mythical figure representing its foundational roots.
단군은 한국 역사 문화의 시작을 의미하는 고조선을 건국하게 되었고, 단군신화는 한국의 국가 기원을 상징하며, 단국은 그 근원을 대표하는 신화적 인물로 여겨진다.
